The Fairview PTF Techonogy group has retained the services of Typing Pal Online for the 2008-2009 school year. We were granted 200 licenses for students (or alumni or parents) to use. This program is an aid to learning and retaining touch typing skills. Currently Fairview offers a keyboarding class in the Third & Fourth grades that meets once a week with Mrs. Priscilla Wood (priscillaw@fcsseattle.org).
Since we were granted so many licenses for the $400 yearly fee, we would encourage you to make use of this resource no matter what grade you are in.
Once you have registered once, you may login directly with your username and password.
To register:
- Enter "fairview65" for the access code.
- At this point you will be brought to a registration screen. Fill it out, click next and you will be automatically registered.
When you choose your group, use the criteria listed here to choose what group you should belong to so that we can provide additional assistance to you if you require it.
For the 3rd & 4th Grades, there are a few class levels to choose from:
- Mrs. Wood's Beginning Class - This is if you have never done any typing before and are just starting to learn
- Mrs. Wood's Intermediate Class - Register for this class if you are able to do some touch typing, but still struggle with some things.
- Mrs. Wood's Advanced Class - Use this class group if you are a good touch typist and just need to work on additional speed and accuracy.
For other grades, use these classes:
- Student's Class Advanced - This is for students in other grades who have already taken Mrs. Wood's class or have otherwise become a decent typist and would like to increase speed and accuracy.
- Student's Class Beginning - This is for students in other grades who would like to start learning now.
For parents and alumni, choose from these classes. And let Mrs. Wood know if you need to have a class more tailored to your needs:
- Alumni Class - This is for any and all alumni of Fairview
- Adult's Class Beginning - This is a beginner's class for parents of students or church members.
- Adult's Class Advanced - This is an advanced class for parents of students or church members.
