Literature Week
"Let's Celebrate Literature!"
"Literature Week" is actually a month-long celebration of literature that culminates in several whole-school and cross-grade experiences during the last week of the month of October. During this week, we will have "read-around" activities where one class will partner with another. The classes meet together and take turns reading, acting, singing, or some other activity related to literature. Some special activities include:
Monday, October 29th - Visual Response to Literature
All through out the 2nd floor main hall we will have work completed by our students on display - drop by and take a peek.
Wednesday, October 31th - 9:30a - Elementary Students (K-2) "Parade of Literary Characters."
Teachers and students alike dress-up as their favorite literary characters. All who participate are encouraged to bring along a copy of the literary work from which their character is taken. This is intended to be a fun low or no cost activity. Please do not allow your child to come as a superhero, comic book character, or character who is gross or violent. This is meant to be a truly literature based event and is in no way intended to be "pretend Halloween."
